...were organizing the 20th year Union Carbide Summer Camps Reunion,
and we tried to interest Dow Chemical to help with some publicity.
We noted this nice sign with the movable letters which at that time
was located at the main entrance to the plant opposite Montrose Drive.

So we sent a nice letter requesting that the sign be changed to read like this:

They didn't change the sign, unfortunately, but I thought I'd document the fact that we tried, and besides we thought it was a cool idea.

(Later, the Dow publicity people in San Diego did help,
with a nice article on the 25th-year reunion.
