Carbide Camps Reunion Index - pictures, photos, memories
In 2002, the alumni of Union Carbide summer camps Cliffside, Carlisle and Camelot, near Charleston, West Virginia, established the third weekend in July each year as a reunion weekend. The camps closed in 1982, after providing enjoyment and growing-up for thousands of pre- and early-teen family members of employees of the Union Carbide South Charleston chemical plant. Every year there's gathering and fun and remembering, and a visit to the former campsites north of Charleston. You'll read here some of the thoughts and memories from those who have been able to attend one of these events. Enjoy!
